Calgary murder suspect surrenders to RCMP in Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for a Calgary murder was arrested last week in Salmon Arm.
According to the Calgary Police Service, Christopher Douglas Mathers, 34, turned himself in at the Salmon Arm RCMP detachment on May 14.
Mathers was wanted for the April 15 murder of 49-year-old Russell David Younker in Calgary. Younker was stabbed during an altercation with another man on the city’s west side.
Calgary Police say Mathers is due to be transported back to Calgary this week.
