Teen dies in ATV crash near 100 Mile House

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A 14-year-old boy was killed in an ATV crash near 100 Mile House Friday (May 14).

In a news release, 100 Mile House RCMP say their members joined B.C. Ambulance Service paramedics and 100 Mile House Fire Rescue personnel at the scene at about 2:20 Friday afternoon on Tatton Station Road.

RCMP say the boy was travelling along a trail on Crown land, quadding with his friends when the crash took place.

Others in the area contacted emergency services using a CB radio.

The boy was rushed to hospital, but efforts to revive him were not successful.

RCMP say the ATV has been seized for further mechanical inspection.

Councillors have been sent to Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School in 100 Mile House to help support the boy’s friends and peers.
