KAMLOOPS — Tanner Dawson got his start in the country music industry three years ago while participating at a talent contest for the Rockin’ River Music Festival in Merritt.

The native of Chase, now living in Kamloops, has recorded his first single “The Man You Make Me.” His video was recorded in Pritchard and was released Saturday (May 16) as he hopes to get his career back on track.

“I’ve been going through the struggles of an early artist for five or six years now,” Dawson said. “Before COVID-19, we were traveling all over Canada playing shows. It’s been a long time coming to get to the point where we feel ready to release some stuff to the public.”

The inspiration of Dawson’s music is the blue collar, working class person.
