CACHE CREEK, B.C. — The Village of Cache Creek has been fined more than $8,000 by Worksafe BC for violations around gas monitoring in the community’s water treatment facilities.
According to Worksafe BC’s website, the fine was levied on April 9.
A Worksafe inspector had pored over the water treatment facilities, finding that Village employees “were not performing bump tests on gas monitoring equipment before entering confined spaces.”
The inspector also noted gas monitors in those areas had not been properly set up, and proper precautions were not being taken before workers entered confined spaces.
