Suspect in police custody after Brocklehurst Middle School threat
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a suspect is in custody following a school threat which resulted in two North Shore schools being placed under a hold and secure order earlier today (May 11).
Police were contacted by School District 73 (SD 73) representatives after a person called Brock Middle School and made a threat. Following consultations with police, SD 73 issued a Hold and Secure order for Brock Middle School, and nearby Kay Bingham Elementary, out of an abundance of caution.
“Police presence continued throughout the school day and during dismissal to help ensure the safety and security of students and staff as our investigation continues,” RCMP Inspector Jeff Pelley said.
No injuries were reported. RCMP said further information will be released.
