Two arrested in Williams Lake following weapons offence

WILLIAMS LAKE — Two men were arrested in Williams Lake Friday (May 7) following a weapons offence.

RCMP say on Friday, police observed a man exiting a home in the 3400 block of 9th Avenue carrying what appeared to be a long barreled firearm. This man is known to police and was on court ordered conditions to not possess any weapons.

Police say the man went back inside and exited a short time later without the firearm where he, along with another man, were arrested without incident. During the arrest, police seized .410 caliber ammunition.

A search of the home revealed an M16 Assault Style Rifle along with a magazine chamber, which was later determined to be a BB Rifle.
