Suspect sought after Anglemont shooting leads to mistaken vehicle takedown in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have released more details about what drew a large police presence in the Valleyview area this morning (May 10).
In a release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the incident began around 6:45 a.m in the Anglemont area when Chase RCMP responded to a shots fired report along Fairview Road.
When police arrived on scene they found one man who had been shot. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries while a suspect vehicle was seen speeding away from the area.
Several hours later around 9:40 a.m, police in the Pritchard area found a vehicle matching the description. Then with the help of Kamloops RCMP, a high-risk takedown occurred on Highway 1 near Vicars Road.
