B.C. records 20 virus-related deaths over the weekend, 1,759 new cases
VICTORIA — It has been another deadly weekend as the COVID-19 pandemic marches on. B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry is reporting 1,759 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, including 20 deaths.
There have now been 1,622 virus related fatalities in B.C since the pandemic began with the vast majority being seniors.
In today’s update (May 10), Dr. Bonnie Henry says between Friday (May 7) and Saturday (May 8) there were 596 new cases of COVID-19. There were 605 new cases between Saturday (May 8) and Sunday (May 9). And 558 new cases between Sunday (May 9) and Monday (May 10).
That increases B.C.’s overall total to 136,100 cases since the pandemic began, distributed as follows:
