Stankoven helps Canada to Under-18 gold

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Blazers forward Logan Stankoven helped Canada to a gold medal in the championship of the World Under-18 hockey playdowns last night. Stankoven scored the third goal of the game as Canada held off Russia 5-3.

Nine Western League players were on the team, including Connor Bedard, the 15-year old phenom who tied teammate Shane Wright for the tournament scoring lead.

Canada went undefeated in the tournament.
