City to set mill rate Tuesday

KAMLOOPS — We’ll have a better idea after today’s (Tuesday’s) council meeting how much we’ll have to pay for taxes this year. Council is set to consider a motion that will levy mill rates for 2021.

The City is trying to keep taxes low, with only a very small increase- 0.93 percent- forecast for this year. That would be the smallest increase since 2006.

The financial statement will be presented to council Tuesday afternoon. The property tax notices, which will be out later this month, also factor in hospital taxes, regional district taxes, and school taxes. Taxes are due to be paid by July.

Complete figures to be considered today can be found on the City’s web page at Kamloops.ca
