Kamloops experiences dryer April but average temperature remains normal
KAMLOOPS — An extremely dry month for Kamloops.
That’s how Environment Canada Meteorologist Bobby Sekhon described April 2021, a month where there was only three-and-a-half millimetres of precipitation.
“That’s about a-quarter of the average monthly precipitation that Kamloops normally gets in April,” Sekhon said. “It doesn’t rank very high as far as the records go – although records do go all the way back to 1891, so we’re dealing with a long period of record. It’s certainly noteworthy but not entirely exceptional in the sense (that it’s in) the top 10 or anything.”
The average temperature in Kamloops was about 10 degrees, which is close to the normal 9.9 in April. However, Sekhon noted Kamloops did have some cooler and hot weather periods in the month.
