Tk'emlups Fire

Fire above Mt. Paul Way held to two hectares, cause unknown

Another fire on the Tk’emlups Reserve was put out Friday (April 30) evening.

Kamloops Fire Rescue put out the fire on the hillside, just above Mt. Paul Way.

“We contained it to about two hectares, but it could have been a very dangerous situation. The winds were very active… the safety message would be to make sure you’re very careful when you’re in green spaces as far as properly disposing any cigarettes, or anything that could be causing fire,” Acting Platoon Captain Shawn Davidson said.

The cause of the fire is to be determined.
