Hooker suspended

WHL suspends Prince George player who knocked Connor Zary out of the Blazers lineup

KAMLOOPS —- Prince George Cougars forward Jonny Hooker has been suspended by the Western Hockey League.

The suspension is for a check to the head on Blazers captain Connor Zary in Wednesday’ 5-1 Prince George win.

It comes under supplemental discipline with the length of the suspension still to be decided.

Hooker was given a minor penalty for charging.

Zary will miss the Blazers weekend games against Kelowna, and head coach Shaun Clouston said in an interview with cfjctoday that he expects Zary to be out a week to ten days.
