Man arrested in Williams Lake after Monday morning gun complaint

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP in Williams Lake responded to a weapons complaint Monday morning (Apr. 26).

Just before 9:00 a.m., a caller reported a man in the 600-block of Atwood Place, putting a rifle into the trunk of a car.

The vehicle was described as a black Pontiac Grand Am. The caller noted there were several people in the car.

Officers responded and detained nine people while they investigated. They found a rifle on the floor of the vehicle and another in the trunk. They believe the rifle in the trunk was stolen.

A 33-year-old man, the driver of the car, was on conditions not to possess guns. He was released with a court date set for June 23.
