TNRD selects BDO Canada for third-party forensic audit

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) has chosen the firm that will pore over its books in the wake of a spending scandal.
In a news release, the TNRD says it received six bids to conduct the independent forensic audit, and selected BDO Canada.
“The TNRD is looking forward to working with BDO who will receive full cooperation from the TNRD to carry out their work,” says CAO Scott Hildebrand in the release.
The regional district’s Board of Directors voted 25-1 in favour of conducting the third-party review after a bombshell report by Kamloops This Week showing more than $517,000 in expenses claimed by former CAO Sukh Gill.
