Western Hockey League announces no playoffs

KAMLOOPS — Once teams complete the 24-game season in the Western Hockey League, that will be it, all done — no playoffs.
The league has announced that because of current public health conditions and the ongoing challenges with COVID-19, including restrictions on travel across provincial and international borders, the league isn’t in a position to have playoffs.
This follows the cancellation of the memorial Cup earlier this month.
The season is scheduled to end May 12.
