RCMP scour Lower Sahali for suspect in armed robbery

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: RCMP have a suspect in custody. This story has been updated here.

EARLIER: RCMP are out in force in Lower Sahali Monday afternoon (Apr. 19) after the report of an armed robbery.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the report came in at about 12:45 p.m. from a commercial business near Aberdeen Mall.

Evelyn says the suspect reportedly produced a gun and robbed the location.

The suspect was last seen near the intersection of Laval Crescent and Notre Dame Drive.

Description:

  • White
  • 6’1″
  • Thin build
  • Dark hair
  • Facial tattoo of a crown beneath his eye
  • Wearing a hoodie (grey or white) and jeans
  • Was wearing a red ball cap at the time of the robbery, though he may have left it behind

Evelyn says frontline officers and the Police Dog Service are fanned out in the area looking for a suspect. The public is asked to give officers plenty of space to work.
