Man arrested in Ashcroft after threats made to Kamloops RCMP
ASHCROFT, B.C. — Officers took a man into custody in Ashcroft Tuesday night (Apr. 13) after a series of threats were directed at Kamloops RCMP.
In a news release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the threats were received by the local detachment at about 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Investigators identified the suspect as a distraught man in the Ashcroft area. The man was previously known to police and it was believed he had access to guns.
Kamloops officers called in the Police Dog Services unit and colleagues from the Ashcroft detachment, surrounding an apartment complex and making contact with the suspect before negotiating his surrender.
