KAMLOOPS — Rocky Mountaineer passengers will wait an additional month before they can explore B.C. via rail again.

The luxury train tour company that has a route to Vancouver and stays overnight in Kamloops delayed the start of its Canadian travel season until July, 2021. In March, Rocky Mountaineer previously delayed its Canadian travel season until June due to uncertainty around when travel and health restrictions will be lifted by the federal and provincial governments.

The route between Banff or Lake Louise and Vancouver will resume July 5 at the earliest, while the route between Jasper and Vancouver is scheduled to begin July 6.

Guests affected by the delayed start to travel in Canada will be offered a future travel credit equivalent to 110 per cent of monies paid. Rocky Mountaineer also said it will freeze its prices for 2021 and 2022 for affected guests.
