Collision between truck’s load, Tranquille overpass causes traffic headache

KAMLOOPS — Traffic on the Kamloops North Shore Wednesday is being snarled Wednesday morning (Apr. 14) after a truck’s load hit the Tranquille overpass.

Photos from the scene show what appear to be concrete panels lying on the northbound lanes of Fortune Drive, with debris scattered over a large area.

Both northbound lanes of traffic on Fortune Drive are being diverted onto the overpass to avoid debris beneath the overpass, and only one southbound lane is open. The exit from Tranquille Road southbound onto the Overlanders Bridge remains open.

In a tweet, the City of Kamloops notes the overpass has been inspected and deemed safe, however traffic should avoid the area while cleanup is underway.
