KAMLOOPS — The federal government has struck a deal to provide Air Canada with a financial loan package of up to 5.8 Billion dollars.
There’s good news for Kamloops as part of that deal. Part of the agreement calls for Air Canada to resume service to smaller regional airports where service had been discontinued because of the COVID pandemic and declining revenues. While there is no timetable for a return to service to Fulton Field, it is expected that the service will be back up relatively quickly.
Air Canada has also agreed to provide refunds for passengers who purchased non-refundable tickets but didn’t travel due to the pandemic since February 20th.
Talks are continuing with other airlines.
