COVID-19 testing at Sun Peaks Resort starting Monday after cases spread in the community
SUN PEAKS RESORT —Sun Peaks Resort will have testing for its residents following Friday’s (April 9) spike in COVID-19 cases.
The Sun Peaks Community Health Centre’s website said testing will be noon to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Appointments are mandatory and can be booked online.
Interior Health told CFJC Today they can’t confirm if active cases grew from the 20 reported on Saturday by Mayor Al Raine. However, they said COVID-19 activity is not limited to Sun Peaks and are recommending everyone in all communities closely monitors themselves and get tested if they have symptoms.
Sun Peaks Resort’s season ended on Monday (April 5). Anyone who visited Sun Peaks Resort within 10 days before April 9 is encouraged to isolate and self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. Raine asked Sun Peaks residents to do the same.
