TORONTO — Kamloops native Riley Nash is joining his fourth NHL team after being traded from Columbus to Toronto on Friday afternoon.
The 31-year-old forward was dealt for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. According to the deal, the seventh-rounder will become a sixth if Nash plays in 25 per cent of the Maple Leafs’ playoff games in 2021.
On Sunday, Nash injured his knee in a game against Florida and was declared out 4-6 weeks.
He had two goals and five assists in 37 games with Columbus this season. In 578 career NHL games with Carolina, Boston and Columbus, he’s recorded 63 goals and added 109 assists.
