100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A teacher a Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School in 100 Mile House has been arrested and charged with child exploitation.

According to RCMP, 108 Mile House resident Vincent Collins, 33, was arrested Thursday (Apr. 8) while on his way to work.

RCMP say they learned of the allegations just hours before the arrest.

“Immediately upon learning of the allegations on the evening of April 7, 2021, officers commenced a fast moving investigation, which resulted in the arrest early yesterday morning,” said Staff Sgt. Svend Nielsen of 100 Mile House RCMP. “We have been closely engaged with the school administration and School District 27 who is supporting our investigation.”

As Collins had access to other children at the school, Nielsen says they are releasing details in an effort to identify if there are other victims or anyone else with further information.

Anyone who may have more information for police is asked to call the 100 Mile detachment at (250) 395-2456 and reference file number 2021-1154.
