City of Kamloops issued $15.1 million in building permits last month

KAMLOOPS — While the Kamloops real estate sector is blazing hot, the building sector has cooled slightly in 2021.

The latest building permit totals published by the City of Kamloops Building Inspection Division show $15.1 million in permits issued during March. That’s slightly lower than the $16.9 million total from March of 2020.

The bulk of last month’s activity came in the residential sector, with $9.6 million in permits issued for new builds or major renovations.

For the year-to-date, the City has issued $34.2 million in building permits. That is about three-quarters of the permit total at the same point in 2020.
