KAMLOOPS — Kamloops native Adam Niles collected his second Top-5 finish as a freshman at the University of Western New Mexico, closing out the most recent tournament strong.
Niles, a member at Rivershore, finished the Mustang Intercollegiate tournament in Phoenix on Tuesday (Apr. 6) with a four-under 68 to sneak into a tie for fifth in the individual competition. It followed a 71 and 72 during a 36-hole marathon on Monday in 37-degree heat. The top three finishers in the tournament, all from Grand Canyon University, are Division I golfers, while Niles is a Division II competitor with the Mustangs.
The strong finish also propelled his University of Western New Mexico team into a tie for third in the team event.
