Gun and drugs seized near Lone Butte in vehicle stop
100 MILE HOUSE — A 44-year-old man from Bridge Lake was arrested along Highway 24 near Lone Butte after alleged drug trafficking and improperly holding a semi automatic rifle.
100 Mile House RCMP and B.C. Highway Patrol came across an uninsured trailer on the highway Friday (April 2) afternoon and arrested the man who police said was a known prohibited driver.
Police said they found a semi-automatic rifle, that was loaded and unsafely stored, with a prohibited magazine in the cab area of the truck within easy reach of the driver. They said there was also evidence of drug trafficking within the truck.
The truck was seized for a complete search and was later impounded. RCMP are recommending charges to Crown Counsel. The investigation is ongoing.
