KAMLOOPS — Emergency responders were busy Monday (April 5) night with several small fires and a brief standoff.
The standoff took place at an apartment building at Holt and Tranquille in Brocklehurst. RCMP aren’t saying much this morning, but the standoff was reported brief. There was a heavy police presence, and the building was evacuated as a precaution, but the man eventually emerged and was taken to hospital.
Fire crews had to deal with a couple of small fires, one at the rear of 546 Tranquille, and another near the old clubhouse on Mac Island, where a fence was on fire. Merritt fire crews also had to deal with a couple of dumpster fires as well.
