KAMLOOPS — A two-sport student-athlete like no other, Sandra Redford (now Blair) competed for the UCC Sun Demons from 1996 to 2000 in both women’s basketball and soccer.

In her last year of competing for the Sun Demons, she led the basketball league in rebounding and was six in scoring, and was tied for first in scoring in soccer.

Redford was a First Team All-star for both soccer and basketball. She was a soccer Provincial and National All-star, and a basketball National All-star. She led her soccer team to a Provincial and National Gold medal, and she led her basketball team to a Provincial Gold medal and fourth-place finish at Nationals. She was an Academic All-Canadian and was awarded three straight UCC Female Scholar Athlete of the Year awards.

Throughout her soccer career, Redford was also won a BCCAA bronze medal, two BCCAA silver medals, and two CCAA National silver medals. She also had individual accolades of a Second Team All-Star in basketball and two First Team All-Stars in soccer, a CCAA National Tournament All-Star in soccer, and two CCAA All Canadian awards in soccer.

The epitome of a student-athlete, Redford set the standard for future TRU student-athletes and is our first ever inductee in the athlete category.
