Canadian striker Jonathan David scores in Lille win over Paris Saint-Germain
PARIS — Canadian striker Jonathan David scored as Lille defeated defending champion Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 Saturday to took over sole posession of first place in France’s Ligue 1.
PSG star Neymar was sent off late in the top-of-the-table clash and then tried to confront a player after the game.
Paris Saint-Germin (20-8-3) trails Lille (19-3-9) by three points and is only one point ahead of third-place Monaco, which earlier beat Metz 4-0.
David scored in the 20th minute with a slightly deflected strike as PSG slipped to a fifth home defeat and eighth overall, with a tough trip to Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the Champions League.
