Kamloops to receive 10 new youth substance use treatment beds
KAMLOOPS — Interior Health says ten new youth substance use treatment beds will be coming to Kamloops.
In a release Thursday (Apr. 1), IH says the contract to operate these beds has been awarded to A New Tomorrow Treatment Solutions. The organization is a partnership between the principals of Active Care Youth and Adult Services and Dr. Mandy Manak in Kamloops.
Dr. Manak is the founder and Medical Director of the Interior Chemical Dependency Office in Kamloops and specializes in the field of addiction medicine.
The new beds will open this spring for young people between the ages of 12 to 18 who have significant and complex substance use challenges. The beds are designed for youth who haven’t been successfully supported through less-intensive treatment.
