KAMLOOPS — The WHL has shut down the Kelowna Rockets for a minimum of two weeks. This move comes after six more positive COVID-19 tests among the Rockets’ players and staff.

According to a media release from the league, two hockey staff members and four players have tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result of these positive tests, the WHL has postponed 10 games in the two RE/MAX Hub cities. That includes Thursday’s schedule between the Prince George Cougars and the Vancouver Giants in Kamloops “out of an abundance of caution.” The other nine games all feature the Rockets.

In accordance with the league’s Return to Play protocol, all Rockets players and staff were immediately isolated and tested. They will now have to isolate and monitor symptoms for the next 14 days.
