Downtown streets closed as Kamloops RCMP investigate incident

KAMLOOPS – RCMP taped off a portion of Victoria Street in downtown Kamloops as they investigated what appears to be a serious incident.
Multiple RCMP vehicles converged on an area around 6th Avenue and Victoria Street Wednesday evening. A witness says a police dog team was involved.
BC Health Services confirmed one person was taken to Royal Inland Hospital around after 6:30 p.m. It did not comment on the extent or nature of the injuries to the victim, however RCMP say the victim did not suffer fatal injuries.
A series of streets were closed to allow investigators to gather evidence at the scene.
