B.C. finds record-breaking 1,013 new cases of COVID-19

VICTORIA — The province is reporting a single-day record 1,013 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday (Mar. 31), including 60 within Interior Health.

That brings the total number of cases found in B.C. past the 100,000 mark to 100,048 since the pandemic began, spread out as follows:

  • 24,230 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 385)
  • 57,820 — Fraser Health (up by 458)
  • 3,324 — Island Health (up by 47)
  • 8,545 — Interior Health (up by 64)
  • 6,004 — Northern Health (up by 60)
  • 176 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)

There are 7,405 active cases in B.C. Wednesday, up by 343 from Tuesday, with 301 patients in hospital and 80 in intensive care.
