PUNTA CANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC — For his third straight tournament, Merritt’s Roger Sloan has finished in the top-25. Sloan was taking part in the opposite-field event over the weekend, with the top PGA pros competing in the Dell Matchplay Event.
The Merrittonain fired rounds of 1-under (71), 2-under (70), 2-under (70), and 1-over (73) to finish at 4-under par in a tie for 22nd place at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
For his weekend of work, Sloan earned $28,000, moving his season total earnings to $310,860.
Unfortunately, due to the event being an opposite-field event, Sloan slipped down the FedEx Cup Standings to 127. That moves Sloan outside of the top-125 who automatically earn tour cards for next season and a spot in the playoffs.
