SALMON ARM — Another small wildfire within the Kamloops region was discovered on Sunday (March 28).

A 0.6-hectare fire is active at Tappen and Sunnybrae northwest of Salmon Arm.

The Kamloops region has seen numerous small wildfires emerge in March due to dry conditions. Fire Information Officer Kyla Fraser encourages anyone who comes across a wildfire to keep clear of the scene, especially if crews are on site.

As of publication, the only other active wildfire within the Kamloops region is a 21-hectare fire north of Lytton, although B.C. Wildfire Service said it’s under control.
