KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops-based B.C. Supreme Court judge has earned a promotion.
Federal Justice Minister David Lametti announced the appointment of Len Marchand Jr. to the B.C. Court of Appeal Wednesday (Mar. 24).
After a 17-year career as a lawyer, Marchand was appointed a provincial judge in 2013 and elevated to the B.C. Supreme Court in 2017.
Marchand is the son of the late Leonard Marchand, who was Canada’s first Indigenous Member of Parliament and first Indigenous cabinet minister under then-Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
