Semi driver “one lucky guy” after Highway 5 accident

KAMLOOPS — Traffic on Highway 5 near McLure is flowing again after being shut down late last night (Monday) because of an accident.

KFR Captain Wade Lindoff says it involved a semi that had rolled at the southern end of McLure. Lindoff says the rescue truck from Kamloops responded because the driver was trapped in the cab of the truck. He was eventually extricated.

Apparently injuries were not believed life-threatening. Captain Lindoff says the man was one lucky person.

The highway was closed down around 10:00 PM last night in both directions and reopened around 1:00 AM.
