Two accused both guilty in 2019 Brocklehurst shooting death

KAMLOOPS — The two men charged in a 2019 drug trade killing in Brocklehurst are both guilty.

In B.C. Supreme Court Thursday (Mar. 18), Hugh McIntosh was found guilty of first degree murder in the February 15 shooting death of Jason Glover.

Glover and a woman were both shot in an apartment near Tranquille Road and Southill Street. Glover was killed but the woman survived with serious injuries.

Speaking to CFJC Today, Crown prosecutor Sarah Firestone says McIntosh was also convicted of attempted murder in the shooting of the woman.

The other man accused in the crimes, Gordie Braaten, pleaded guilty to manslaughter last week.

Firestone says a date for sentencing McIntosh will be set next Monday, March 22. He will receive a minimum of 25 years in prison with no chance of parole thanks to the first-degree murder conviction.

A date for sentencing Braaten will be set in April.
