MERRITT, B.C. — The City of Merritt has released the details of how Merrittonians can attend this evening’s town hall meeting.

The meeting will be held on Microsoft Teams.

A link to the meeting can be found here – https://www.merritt.ca/march-18-thm/

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 pm.

“Since this council was elected in 2018 we continue to hear from residents that there’s a need for more growth and development in Merritt,” said Mayor Linda Brown. “Residents have shared their experiences with housing that costs too much and its also difficult to find. They have also expressed their desire for more business and job opportunities.”

“Now that development is at our doorstep we’ve heard from many residents that they’re concerned about how development will affect their neighbourhood,” added Brown. “As a community we need to talk, we need to have conversations about density, attracting business and industry, more housing availability, how to fund infrastructure, property taxes, and service levels.”
