KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University (TRU) student groups have put money back to students.

The TRU Students’ Union (TRUSU) donated $550,000 to the TRU Limitless campaign, and the TRU Society of Law Students pledged $25,000 to support student initiatives in the Faculty of Law.

In a release on Wednesday (March 17), TRU said the $550,000 from TRUSU will go to at least 35 student bursaries every year going forward.

“We are excited to be able to increase the number of students our endowment supports,” TRUSU Vice President of Service Dipak Parmar said. “This bursary will support hundreds and hundreds of students over the next decade. It is one of the ways that we are working to make education accessible and affordable for our members.”
