Selena Gomez Gives Special Shout Out

Selena Gomez took the time to thank her friend and kidney donor Fancia Raisa on World Kidney Day.

The 28-year-old singer wrote “Thank you for blessing me. I am forever grateful to you,” underneath a tweet from Raisa on Thursday (March 11th).

Gomez was replying to a thread in which her friend opened up about the donation for the first time.  She shared her thoughts alongside a photo of herself leaving the hospital after surgery in 2017.

She wrote, “If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’ve kept my kidney donation process pretty private. However, I think I’ve gotten to a point in my life where I feel comfortable and confident in speaking about my experience, and using my platform to raise awareness for the various kidney diseases that affect our population.
