Quesnel parts shop employee knifed by shoplifting suspect
QUESNEL, B.C. — An employee at a business in Quesnel suffered several lacerations while attempting to stop a shoplifter from stealing items from a store this week.
Quesnel RCMP Sgt. Richard Weseen says the attack occurred on Tuesday at approximately 3:20 p.m. at Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts on Malcom Drive.
He says the employee approached the man while observing him concealing stolen items in his jacket.
“When the employees attempted to stop the man, an altercation ensued. During the scuffle, one of the employees received cuts to both his hands and one ear after the male produced a knife.
