Armed robbery attempt at Williams Lake hotel

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP in Williams Lake are investigating an early morning armed robbery attempt.

According to a news release, the incident happened at about 1:48 a.m. Wednesday (Mar. 10). A masked man walked into the front lobby of the Coast Fraser Inn, demanding money from the desk clerk. The suspect was carrying what police described as “an edged weapon.”

The clerk fled into the back office and called police, causing the suspect to run away.

The same suspect is believed to have damaged the door of the nearby Boston Pizza but was unable to get inside.
