100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP in 100 Mile House believe they have cracked the case of a series of fuel thefts in the community.

Last Friday afternoon, an off-duty officer spoke to a man seen pushing a shopping cart down Birch Avenue. The cart had a blue water can in it, filled with diesel fuel.

When the blue water can was connected to the report of a container stolen from a home last month, officers obtained a search warrant and searched a suspect vehicle. They found a number of cans along with several lengths of copper pipe, also believed to be stolen.

The suspect, a 41-year-old man, was arrested and later released on a series of conditions before he reappears in court to face potential charges.
