B.C. records 1,462 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend; 79 in Interior Health, 144 variant cases
VICTORIA — As the B.C. government begins to make appointments for those in Phase Two of its COVID-19 immunization plan, the province continues to see elevated spread of the virus.
In a briefing Monday (Mar. 8), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 1,462 new cases of the virus over the past three days — 545 cases on Saturday, 532 on Sunday and 385 on Monday.
Seventy-nine of those new cases were found within Interior Health.
There have now been a total of 84,569 cases of the virus is B.C. since the pandemic began, spread out as follows:
