Fallen hiker rescued at Peterson Creek Park

KAMLOOPS — A 37-year-old hiker was facing a several hundred metre drop-off on Sunday (Feb. 28).

The hiker was alone and fell off the trail at Peterson Creek Park, leaving them to call 9-1-1 while they clung to brush.

Kamloops Fire Rescue and RCMP hiked the park and located the person on Tom Moore Trail and removed them from the ledge. No injuries were reported.

Police said trails in Peterson Creek Park area are extremely slippery and caution is urged.
