KAMLOOPS — The B.C. Wildlife Park has been awarded a provincial grant to help it become more accessible for those with mobility challenges.
In a news release, the park says it will put the $149,000 to good use by paving pathways and adding accessibility features to outdoor washroom facilities.
General Manager Glenn Grant says only about half of the park’s 1.5 kilometres of walkable pathways are paved. The rest are covered with crushed rock, which can prove difficult for those who use wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and crutches.
