Youth arrested after attempting to break into Kamloops home
KAMLOOPS – Quick work by RCMP led to the arrest of a teen who was attempting to break into a home on the North Shore of Kamloops.
Police were called out to the 1100 block of Bentley Place at 2:53 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 24). A person had climbed a garden trellis in an attempt to access the second storey deck of a home. Before getting inside, the would-be thief was chased off by the owner of the home.
When RCMP attended, the suspect was spotted along Parkcrest Avenue. Initially, he managed to evade the police. However, an RCMP dog team tracked the suspect to a residence where Mounties were able to make an arrest.
The teenager has been released on conditions. Police are considering laying charges in the case. Meantime investigators are asking the public for any information on the incident. Individuals with information should contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
