KAMLOOPS — Hey Kamloops kids! The RCMP need your help.

The national police force has 13 new German Shepherd puppies who need names.

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP dog handler Cpl. Steve Prior says any one of these pups could eventually be stationed in Kamloops, helping keep the community safe.

“It takes a really special dog to get through our program,” said Prior. “They do a lot for us without asking for much of anything.”

Names can be submitted at the link below and will be chosen after the submission deadline of March 18.

In 2019, the name ‘Marlow’ was chosen for a pup, based on a submission from a youngster in the Kamloops neighbourhood of Rayleigh.

Anyone who submits a winning submission will receive an 8×10 photo of the pup namesake, as well as a plush dog and an RCMP water bottle.
